Rob Gronkowski injury: Patriots star leaves with forearm injury

Rob Gronkowski appears to have re-injured his left forearm and is heading to the locker room for further evaluation.

USA TODAY Sports

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronwkowski appears to have aggravated his forearm injury in the Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans. Having already missed five games in the regular season with a broken left forearm, Gronk came back in Week 17 and was seemingly 100 percent.

Then this happened.

That looks like it hurts.

Gronk was later spotted on the sidelines in obvious physical pain, and was taken to the locker room for X-Rays. He is officially questionable to return.

It's unknown whether or not he re-broke his forearm, but the initial signs do not look good at all. Look for Aaron Hernandez to get a heavier share of targets with Gronk sidelined again.

Gronk had 55 catches for 790 yards and 11 touchdowns in the regular season.

The Patriots currently lead 7-3 late in the first quarter. A huge opening kickoff set up Houston's field goal. After that, the two teams have been trading off punts until Shane Vereen scored from the goal line to put New England up.
