Texans vs. Patriots NFL injury report: Rob Gronkowski out for season

Rob Gronkowski, Danny Woodhead and Chandler Jones were all injured during New England’s 41-28 win over the Houston Texans in the AFC’s Divisional round.

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski re-injured his broken left forearm during New England's 41-28 win over the Houston Texans, and will miss the remainder of the 2013 playoffs.

Gronkowski originally suffered a broken arm during the Patriots' Week 11 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Pro Bowl tight end returned from the injury in Week 17, catching two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Danny Woodhead and Chandler Jones both suffered injuries for the Patriots on Sunday. Woodhead injured his thumb on New England's first offensive play of the game, and was taken to the locker room for X-rays. Though Woodhead returned to the sideline with his helmet and full pads on, he did not return to the game.

Jones injured his ankle during the second quarter, and did not return to the game.

While Gronkowski is certainly out for the year, the status of Woodhead and Jones for Sunday’s AFC title game is unknown.

For the Texans, wide receiver Devier Posey suffered a torn Achilles tendon. Posey will need surgery to correct the injury, and it’s unknown if the wide receiver will be ready for the start of training camp.
