Ravens vs. Broncos NFL injury report: Bernard Pierce tweaks knee in win

Two running backs left early in Saturday’s divisional playoff and did not return to action. Here’s a look at their statuses.

USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens advanced to the AFC Championship after defeating the Denver Broncos, 38-35, in double overtime on Saturday. They emerged unscathed for the most part, but running back Bernard Pierce left the game early after tweaking his knee.

Pierce was limited in practice throughout the week before the divisional round matchup, but he suited up and rushed for 14 yards on five carries against the Broncos. However, he left the field after his knee started giving him issues again, and he didn’t play in the final quarter or both overtimes. No word has been given on his status yet, but if his sore knee forces him to sit out this Sunday, Ray Rice will be in line for an even larger workload.

On Denver’s side, another running back went down on Saturday. Knowshon Moreno also suffered a knee injury in the third quarter, leaving Ronnie Hillman in charge of the backfield down the stretch. Moreno rushed for 32 yards on 10 carries and hauled in two catches for 21 yards and a touchdown.
