On Sunday, the New England Patriots will take on the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game in Gillette Stadium for the right to go to the Super Bowl. Sound familiar?
2013 NFL Conference championships look familiar
In a league that trumpets parity, recent playoff results indicate otherwise.

For the first time since 1993, the NFL sees three of the same teams return to the championship round, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Back then, it was the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills all getting another chance at glory, while Joe Montana and the Kansas City Chiefs also made it to the penultimate weekend.
Of course, the Bills and Cowboys moved on, each winning 30-13 before Dallas won Super Bowl XXVIII, by a score of guess what? 30-13.
In a league that is physically grueling and constantly seeing rosters turn over at a clip of about one-third every year, it’s astounding that the San Francisco 49ers, Ravens and Patriots all made it back to this spot.
San Francisco is particularly incredible considering it went through a quarterback change mid-season, something that almost guarantees a shorter year.
