Bears coaching rumors: Bruce Arians also a finalist

In addition to Darrell Bevell and Marc Trestman, Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians is also a finalist for the Bears’ head coaching vacancy.

Add Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians to the list of candidates in Chicago. Arians is one of the Bears three finalists, according to a report from Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Arians joins Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevel and Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman as three candidates who will receive second interviews. Chicago met with Trestman on Sunday and are scheduled for a second interview with Bevell on Tuesday.

After filling in as the interim head coach and leading the Colts to a 9-3 record, Arians has interviewed with multiple teams this offseason. He has nine years of experience as an offensive coordinator, having spent three seasons in Cleveland and five seasons as the coordinator in Pittsburgh before moving to Indianapolis last year. He is known to work well with quarterbacks, having played a key role in the development of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

While Arians and Bevell are among the finalists, Trestman is still believed to be the favorite to replace Lovie Smith.
