Police in New Jersey are searching for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt in relation to two incidents which occurred Sunday night.

Britt dropped off a man with stab wounds, later identified to be a friend, at a hospital and was also at the scene or had just left the scene where a gunshot was fired at an apartment building. Britt was uncooperative with officers at the hospital and police have been trying to locate him since he left.

An anonymous spokesperson for Britt said he had made himself available to cooperate with authorities, but Jersey City police captain Edgar Martinez refuted that claim.

“At this point he is still not cooperating with police,” Martinez said, according to The Tennessean. “So whatever statement he puts out is false.”

Instead, Martinez said the police are searching for Britt and asking anyone, including Titans owner Bud Adams, to contact the police with information of Britt’s whereabouts. Britt has been involved in nine incidents with police since he was drafted in 2009. He was suspended for one game by the NFL last season after repeated violations of the personal conduct policy. A spokesman for the NFL said the league plans to look into the latest incidents.
