After being announced as the head coach Wednesday morning, Marc Trestman isn’t wasting any time assembling a staff and has already brought in former Dallas special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.
Cowboys allow special teams coach Joe DeCamillis to leave for Bears
Former Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis is headed to Chicago a year after the Cowboys blocked him from leaving for Oakland.

DeCamillis will join the Bears a year after Dallas blocked him from becoming the special teams coordinator and assistant head coach in Oakland. He was one of 13 candidates to interview for the Bears head coaching position, but will now work under Trestman.
In Chicago, DeCamillis will replace long-time Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub who left Chicago to join Andy Reid in Kansas City on Tuesday. DeCamillis has 24 years of NFL experience and is regarded as one of the top special teams coordinators in the league. In addition to being the special teams coordinator, DeCamillis will also have an assistant head coach title in Chicago.
His departure leaves another vacancy on the Cowboys coaching staff. Jason Garrett will now have to find a new special teams coordinator in addition to his search for a new running backs coach.
