NFL coaching tracker: Cardinals still looking at Darrell Bevell, Bruce Arians and Jay Gruden

The Arizona Cardinals are now the only in the NFL without a head coach after Gus Bradley joined the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. See who the Cardinals are still pursuing.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

The Arizona Cardinals are now the only team in the NFL still without a head coach, after the Jacksonville Jaguars managed to snatch defensive coordinator Gus Bradley away from the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. They were reportedly interested in former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, but he signed with the San Diego Chargers earlier this week. So who's left among the men they've interviewed?

Former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians is interviewing with the Cardinals on Thursday. He was reportedly considered for the Chicago Bears head coaching vacancy. Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will also get an interview, along with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.

Complicating matters is defensive coordinator Ray Horton. The Cardinals have been insistent that Horton must be retained under the new head coach. Of course, Horton himself is also considered a candidate for the position.

Rumors Elsewhere:

-- Now that the Jaguars have a head coach, they need assistants. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, they have asked the New Orleans Saints for permission to interview offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. The Saints missed the playoffs this season, but they still average 28.8 points per game, good for third best in the NFL. According to Schefter, the Saints will try to hold on to Carmichael if the can.

-- Rod Marinelli will not return with the Chicago Bears next season, new head coach Marc Trestman confirmed Thursday. Instead, Marinelli may joing forces with Monte Kiffin in Dallas as a defensive assistant. As for Trestman, he is looking to bring assistants with him from the Montreal Alouettes.

-- Meanwhile, Ken Whisenhunt may join with the Chargers as an offensive coordinator, according to Jason La Canfora. He was the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004-2006 before becoming the head coach of the Cardinals.
