Ken Whisenhunt will be Chargers offensive coordinator, according to report
The San Diego Chargers will name former Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt their new offensive coordinator.

Whisenhunt twice led the Cardinals to the playoffs and took them to Super Bowl XLIII. But after Kurt Warner retired following the 2009 season, the Cardinals struggled, particularly on offense. Over the past three seasons, Arizona finished 26th, 24th, and 31st in total offense and Whisenhunt was fired following a 5-11 season in 2012.
Prior to his time in Arizona, Whisenhunt served as the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator for three seasons, including when they won Super Bowl XL.
The hope in San Diego is that with an established quarterback like Philip Rivers, Whisenhunt can generate the type of success he did in Arizona with Warner and in Pittsburgh with Roethlisberger.
The Chargers hired Mike McCoy, former offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos, to be their new head coach on Tuesday. McCoy and Whisenhunt will likely work together to shape the San Diego offense.
