Pete Carmichael has been with the New Orleans Saints since 2006 and has no plans to leave anytime soon. The offensive coordinator wants to work out a deal to stay in New Orleans and is expected to turn down requests from both the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars to interview for the same position with those franchises, according to the Times-Picayune.

New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael wants to stay in New Orleans and is expected to turn down interview requests from the Eagles and Jaguars.

Carmichael, 41, is not under contract with the Saints for the 2013 season, but both sides are looking to reach a deal that keeps Carmichael as the offensive coordinator, a role he has had since 2009. Carmichael joined the Saints’ staff in 2006, their first year under head coach Sean Payton. He served as the team’s quarterbacks coach from 2006-08 and was also the passing game coach from 2007-08.
In the seven seasons Carmichael has been with New Orleans they have finished in the top 10 in total offensive every year, with four seasons as the top-ranked offense.
