Arizona Cardinals are the last NFL team yet to hire a new head coach

After seven head coaches were fired on Black Monday, or shortly after, the Arizona Cardinals remain the only team in the league yet to hire a replacement. The Cardinals fired Ken Whisenhunt after a 5-11 season in which the team was forced to start four different quarterbacks.

The Cardinals have interviewed several candidates, many of whom have been hired by the six other coach-less teams. Arizona has interviewed Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and the team's own defensive coordinator Ray Horton.

The Cardinals were making a major push for Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, but he was hired by the San Diego Chargers and is now off the table. When they reached out to Haley, they were reportedly told that he would be expensive because he is happy in Pittsburgh.

Gruden, Arians and Horton seem to be the most likely candidates for the Cardinals job at this point.
