The 2013 NFL Draft is right around the corner ... kind of. First, we’ve got the NFC and AFC Championship games, and then the Super Bowl, and then about a month of nothingness, the opening of free agency, the scouting combine, more nothingness and then the NFL Draft.
NFL Mock Draft 2013: How SB Nation’s compares to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt
We take a look at SB Nation’s latest 2013 NFL Mock Draft and how it compares to Gil Brandt’s latest from NFL.com.

So really, not that long at all.
Dan Kadar of SB Nation released his latest mock draft on Monday and there are some interesting choices. It’s still early on in the process, which means that the mocks can be pretty varied at this stage. Still, many of the major players are releasing their’s so it’s time to do some comparisons.
Gil Brandt of NFL.com posted his first mock draft on Tuesday and there’s some immediate differences in how he sees the top-end of the draft shaping up.
On one hand, he has the Kansas City Chiefs taking offensive tackle Luke Joeckel with the No. 1 overall pick. This differs from SB Nation, where quarterback Geno Smith is the top pick. Joeckel isn't exactly an unpopular pick at this point, though, so that's no big deal.
Both sources have the Jacksonville Jaguars taking some form of defensive lineman, but it's pick three where everything is thrown for a loop. SB Nation has the Raiders taking a defensive lineman in Bjoern Werner, a defensive end out of Florida State.
Brandt has them taking the quarterback mentioned above: Smith. Few mock drafts around the Internet have the Raiders doing this, so it’s an interesting move. Brandt simply says that Smith is a risky pick, but that he could pay off big time for the Raiders.
Quarterbacks continue to dominate the differences, with the Arizona Cardinals taking Tyler Wilson in the SB Nation mock, but Matt Barkley in Brandt's. After that pick, Brandt doesn't have another quarterback in his mock, while SB Nation doesn't have Barkley going in the first round at all.
SB Nation has quarterback Ryan Nassib from Syracuse going to Buffalo at No. 8, and Brandt has them taking linebacker Alec Ogletree, who went to the Houston Texans at No. 27 in SB Nation's latest.
