Redskins WR Josh Morgan undergoes ankle surgery
It’s been a surgery-filled off-season for the Redskins, who now see wide receiver Josh Morgan go under the knife.

Morgan, 27, had the procedure on Friday, with a return date uncertain right now. The Redskins’ pass-catcher was finally healthy in 2012, playing in all 16 games and putting up a statline of 48 catches, 510 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
It was a bounce-back year for Morgan, who had only played five games in 2011 with the San Francisco 49ers due to torn ligaments and a broken right leg.
Morgan's best season came in 2010 for San Francisco, when he registered 698 yards and two scores on 44 receptions. Now with Washington, Morgan is a reliable receiver for quarterback Robert Griffin III and even led the team in receptions.
Assuming Morgan returns at full strength for 2013, he will be one piece of a nice receiving core including Pierre Garcon, Leonard Hankerson and Santana Moss.
