On a drive that featured a costly delay of game penalty from quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers didn't lose their cool. Instead, Kaepernick completed a vital third-down play to tight end Vernon Davis, which set up the 15-yard James touchdown.

Up to this point, the San Francisco offense looked anemic. Unable to make an impact on the ground, or through the air, they showed an uncharacteristic lack of strength at the point of attack, allowing pressure from four-man rushes from Atlanta. Despite rushing for over 180 yards last week, Kaepernick has not carried the ball yet Sunday.
It appears the Falcons have scouted his running ability, and the 49ers are instead attacking the center of the field wherever possible.
Like the Seattle Seahawks last week, it remains to be seen whether San Francisco allowed themselves to get in too deep of a hole.
