Ravens vs. Patriots: Bernard Pollard calls out Tom Brady for ‘bull crap’ slide

Bernard Pollard is going to the Super Bowl, but he’s still stewing over Tom Brady.

Evan Habeeb-US PRESSWIRE

Just because safety Bernard Pollard and the Baltimore Ravens are advancing to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans doesn't mean they're a completely happy bunch.

The safety known for his hard hitting made it a point after the game to talk abut Brady’s odd-looking slide in the second quarter, when the quarterback raised his leg up as he went down.

It's ironic that Pollard would be the one speaking out in this case instead of Ed Reed, who was the man in danger on the play. According to CSN New England, Pollard had the following to say:

“You’ve got to keep them legs down,” said Pollard. “You’ve go to keep the legs down. We all know and understand what’s going on there. And as a quarterback, when you go to slide, we’re taught . . . we can’t do anything. When you come sliding, and your leg is up in the air trying to kick somebody, that’s bull crap.”

Of course, Pollard has a long and famous history with the New England Patriots. It was his hit in the 2008 season opener when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs that tore Brady's ACL and ended his season.

In more recent times, Pollard was also involving in Wes Welker tearing his knee up, Rob Gronkowski injuring his ankle and on Sunday, Steven Ridley being knocked out with a concussion. It should be pointed out, however, that all the hits were clean.
