Super Bowl MVP Odds: Kaepernick Top Betting Choice
Colin Kaepernick has gone from NFL backup to Super Bowl starter in less than two months. When Super Bowl MVP odds were posted Tuesday, he was standing at the top as the betting favorite.

But since then, Colin Kaepernick has turned in one terrific performance after another and is now the top betting choice for Super Bowl MVP, according to Bovada Sportsbook.
Kaepernick was 17/10 Tuesday morning, but had moved to 7/4 by midday, according to the odds watchers at OddsShark.com.
He was favored over Baltimore Ravens pivot Joe Flacco, who was the second betting choice at 5/2. Retiring future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis - perhaps because he might get a nostalgic nod from voters if he plays well - is third at 6/1.
He and San Francisco linebacker Aldon Smith (at 25/1) are the two highest-rated defensive players. Defensive players rarely win this award, but Lewis turned the trick back at Super Bowl XXXV. Free safety Dexter Jackson did the same for Tampa Bay over Oakland a few years later.
Niners running back Frank Gore, the workhorse for many years in San Francisco, was 17/2 while his counterpart with the Ravens was 12/1 (Ray Rice).
