NFL Pro Bowl: Peyton Manning owns Hawaii too

Peyton Manning has set his fair share of NFL records during the regular season, but he also holds a number of Pro Bowl records. Yes, those exist.

While many players treat the Pro Bowl like an extended practice, Peyton Manning takes it seriously. With that, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Manning holds a number of Pro Bowl records, including both single-game and career marks.

Manning, who will be making his 12th Pro Bowl appearance this season, holds seven major Pro Bowl passing records. Manning's career records include attempts with 184, completions with 109, passing yards with 1,508, yards per attempt at 8.20 and passing touchdowns with 14. In addition, he also holds the single-game record for completions with 22 and passing yards with 342. Yes, that is correct, Peyton Manning once threw for 342 yards in an all-star game.

After not playing in the game last season, Manning returns to the Pro Bowl this season and when he does so, he will head to the familiar confines of Aloha Stadium. Outside of the 2010 game, which was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Fla., Aloha Stadium has hosted every Pro Bowl since 1980.

While Manning already holds a number of records, he could add to or set even more records this season. If the recent trend holds true, there figures to be plenty of offense. The last two Pro Bowls have finished with an average score of 57-41. Last year, the two teams combined for over 1,100 yards of total offense, including 943 passing yards.

The winning team of the this year’s Pro Bowl will also have bragging rights for a year. The teams are currently tied with 21 wins each after the AFC won last season.
