Pro Bowl 2013: Trent Williams withdraws after ‘altercation’, according to report

The Redskins tackle was in the news earlier in the month after a post-game altercation with Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

The Pro Bowl will have a last second shake-up as Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams reportedly will not play in the NFL all-star game after an altercation on Thursday night resulted in the lineman needing stitches, according to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 THE FAN in Washington D.C.

Williams, 24, was the fourth overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft and started in all 16 games at left tackle for the Redskins in 2012. The Redskins gave up 33 sacks during the season, ranking No. 12 in the NFL in fewest sacks allowed, and finished with the most rushing yards in the NFL.

After he was charged with reckless driving in August 2010, charges against Williams were dropped. Since then, he has had no brush-ins with the law, although he was involved in an altercation with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman after the conclusion of a postseason game between the two teams earlier in the month.

The NFL announced Minnesota Vikings rookie Matt Kalil as the replacement for Williams at offensive tackle for the NFC squad. The 2013 Pro Bowl is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. ET.
