Super Bowl tickets: Ravens, 49ers ticket prices drop slightly

Super Bowl XLVII ticket prices continue to drop by the slimmest margins, but it’s still nearly impossible for the average football fan to attend the NFL’s biggest game.

Super Bowl XLVII ticket prices are coming down!

Well, sort of. If you want to be there in person when Ray Lewis takes the field for the last time, it'll cost you a small fortune.

According to TiqIQ, the average price of a ticket to Super Bowl XLVII is $3,499 -- nearly $100 less than the average price on Friday. Similarly, the cheapest available ticket price dropped ever-so-slightly. On Friday, the cheapest ticket available was selling for $1,930. On Saturday, you can get in the Superdome for $1,895 -- if you want to sit in the 35th row of section 601.

The most expensive tickets available on TiqIQ are selling for $5,916. The nearly-$6,000 tickets are located in section 117, and fans willing to spend that much can sit in the 16th, 23rd or 31st row.

Though it's nice that prices are trending in the right direction, it's still nearly impossible for the average football fan to attend the Super Bowl. Spending nearly $2,000 on a nosebleed seat only scratches the surface of costs. San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens fans need to travel halfway across the country, find a hotel, and feed themselves for a week, on top of ticket costs.
