Former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams might have himself a job, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Williams has met with the Tennessee Titans and is on the verge of being named the team's assistant head coach.

The Tennessee Titans are close to hiring Gregg Williams as their assistant head coach, according to a report.

Williams cannot officially put pen to paper on a deal with any team or, at the very least, said team cannot submit the paperwork to the league until Williams is officially reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. At this point, that is considered a formality, and could come as early as this week.
The league has allowed Williams to look for work for about three weeks now, as reports stated Williams has been cleared to do so since Dec. 31. It’s unclear if Williams has been searching this whole time and if so, it’s unclear if other teams have been hesitant to consider him.
Williams gained notoriety (and his current suspension) due to his involvement in the Saints bounty scandal. Williams was the “ringleader” of sorts, and was suspended for the entirety of the 2012 season. The scandal saw multiple coaches and players disciplined for taking out bounties on opposing players, with monetary rewards given for injuries.
There has been some thought that many players around the league don't want to work for Williams due to the perception that Williams "snitched" on linebacker Jonathan Vilma. Other teams probably didn't want to be associated with Williams due to what happened with the bounty scandal.
Again, it's unclear if Williams has been searching this whole time, but according to Schefter, former Titans head coach and current St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher endorsed Williams to his former employer. Did Williams need that endorsement to land another job in the NFL, or is this the job he was looking for from the beginning?
At the very least, it’s likely Williams will truly be used in his role. He’s highly regarded as a defensive coach and as an assistant to Mike Munchak, it’s likely he’ll be vocal behind the scenes, as that is just the kind of coach he is.
