Pro Bowl 2013 MVP: Kyle Rudolph takes home award in first appearance

Kyle Rudolph made the most of his first Pro Bowl appearance. Here’s a look at his MVP performance.

Andy Lyons

The NFC absolutely dominated the 2013 Pro Bowl, and Kyle Rudolph played in big part in the huge victory. After being named a replacement for Tony Gonzalez, Rudolph finished the afternoon taking home MVP honors in his first appearance in Hawaii.

Rudolph caught five passes for 122 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. The 23-year-old hauled in a 3-yard pass in the end zone from Eli Manning with just a few seconds left to play in the second quarter, giving the NFC a 31-14 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.

He also managed to grab the longest pass of the day, catching a 52-yard bomb from Manning, beating Eric Berry over the top and making Chiefs fans cringe for what we presume to be the final time this season.

Rudolph only has two pro seasons under his belt, but he’s already making a name for himself in Minnesota. He caught 53 passes and nine touchdowns during the regular season, stepping up for Christian Ponder after Percy Harvin went down for the season.
