Super Bowl prop bets 2013: What color Gatorade will be dumped on the winning coach?

The Super Bowl presents us with many tough predictions to make. Who wins the coin toss, who scores first, and what color Gatorade will be dumped on the winning coach?

Super Bowl prop bets are allowed to run wild every year. If there's some sort of odd premonition you have about the biggest football game of the year, you can probably place money on it.

Gamblers are faced with the same difficult decisions this time around. Can the 49ers cover the spread? Who wins MVP? But one of the most important questions posed for Sunday involves dousing the winning head coach.

Here’s a bet that might spark your interest: What color will the Gatorade (or liquid) be that is dumped on the winning coach? The line is pretty tight right now.

  • Clear/Water (7/4)
  • Orange (5/2)
  • Yellow (5/2)
  • Green (13/2)
  • Red (13/2)
  • Blue (13/2)

Does clear Gatorade still exist? Odds are water/nonexistent Gatorade Frost is the favorite to win. Surprisingly yellow is not out in front. As you can see from the picture above, Jim Harbaugh has faced his fair share of yellow cascades in the past. When the 49ers clinched the NFC West, the players gave him yellow Gatorade as well. You can just barely see it at the beginning of this video.

For the most intense analysis ever of Gatorade showers, check out the breakdown here. Tom Coughlin received a purple bath last year, and that option isn’t even on the list now. Yellow looks like a good choice, simply given the trend with the Harbaughs.
