Super Bowl XLVII odds: Odds moving slightly in Ravens’ favor

The 49ers remain the favorite in Super Bowl XLVII but the line has moved slightly in Baltimore’s favor.

USA TODAY Sports

After opening as a 5-point favorite in Super Bowl XLVII, the San Francisco 49ers have remained the favorite. The line, however, has moved slightly in favor of the Baltimore Ravens.

On Monday, the 49ers were a 3-1/2-point favorite on a number of online betting websites, but a 4-1/2-point favorite on the online betting website Bovada. The odds on Bovada have since dropped slightly, as San Francisco is now a 4-point favorite, according to OddsShark.

The slight drop is far from a major event, but does show that bettors continue to favor the Ravens at the higher odds. Of the six online betting sites listed, five have the 49ers as 3-1/2-point favorites. Bettors picking the Ravens to cover the spread are going against the results from the regular season. Baltimore went 6-9-1 against the spread during the regular season while San Francisco went 9-7 against the spread.

Baltimore, however, has been much better against the spread in the postseason, going 3-0. That mark includes two games where the Ravens won despite opening as at least 8-point underdogs. In addition to the shrinking spread, the total has also dropped after opening at 49. Bovada, 5 Dimes, Just Bet and Top Bet currently have the total at 47-1/2 while Bet Online and SBG Global have it at 47.

San Francisco fans hope history continues, as the 49ers are 5-0 against the spread in the Super Bowl.
