He's the most captivating figure in football, so it was no surprise when almost every member of the media was crowded in front of the podium of Ray Lewis to begin Media Day for the Baltimore Ravens prior to his final NFL game. Lewis answered several questions from the media, but refused to address the report that he used a banned substance to recover from his torn triceps injury.

A Sports Illustrated report suggests that Lewis used deer antler velvet extract to help recover from his torn triceps this season. Lewis said he would not give the story any press and refused to address the allegations.
The other major incident surrounding Lewis has to do with the murder charges that were levied against Lewis in 2000 and ultimately resulted in an obstruction of justice plea. Lewis did not want to spend much time on the subject, but said, “I will live with that every day of my life.”
Lewis, who won a Super Bowl in his fifth season with the Ravens, said the big difference between Super Bowl XXXV and now is that this time around he is a leader. In 2001, Lewis looked to Shannon Sharpe and Rod Woodson, who had Super Bowl experience, but this time he is the leader who has been there before.
He went on to say that the Super Bowl was the ultimate achievement in football and that there was no better feeling than to have a second chance to win a ring. Lewis also indicated that he wanted to win this Super Bowl for his grandmother, who is the driving force in his life and currently on life support in a hospital due to complications from diabetes.
