Super Bowl 2013 Odds: Touchdown Betting Props

Who will score the first TD in Super Bowl XLVII? Wanna bet on the longest touchdown or will there be a defensive TD? Tons of TD-related props dot the NFL odds landscape this weekend.

Cary Edmondson-US PRESSWIRE

Super Bowl proposition betting boards offering a crazy array of wagering opportunities, but there’s no doubt that among the most popular prop bets are those that have to do with who and how and when touchdowns will are scored.

Bettors can bet on a player or a play or a time, and get good odds on any and all of those props. They can even bet on touchdowns not being scored.

Here’s a quick look at some of what sportsbooks such as Bovada are offering on Super Bowl XLVII touchdown propositions.

The most popular touchdown prop is probably the “first player to score TD” board. For Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVII They are listing San Francisco RB Frank Gore as the favorite to score the game’s first touchdown at 13/2.

Baltimore RB Ray Rice is the second choice on the board at 7/1, followed by, among others, SF quarterback Colin Kaepernick and WR Michael Crabtree both at 8/1, Ravens WRs Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith both at 17/2, Niners TE Vernon Davis at 9/1, Baltimore RB Bernard Pierce at 22/1 and San Francisco WR Ted Ginn, Jr. at 33/1.

The OVER/UNDER of 46 yards sits on the longest touchdown to be scored Sunday, and an O/U of 5.5 on the number of touchdowns that will be scored.

Bettors can also take a crack at the exact number of touchdowns scored. Bovada is offering odds of 25/1 on exactly one touchdown; 5/1 on four touchdowns; 4/1 on five touchdowns; 5/1 on six touchdowns; and 18/1 on 10 or more touchdowns.

The last time the Ravens and Niners met, back on Thanksgiving night of last season, the teams combined to score exactly one touchdown in a 16-6 Baltimore victory.

Last February, in a Super Bowl game that featured OVER/UNDERs on points of 53 and on touchdowns of seven, the Giants and Patriots combined to score four touchdowns.

Finally, the price on a defensive/special teams touchdown being scored Sunday sits at +160.
