NFL coaching rumors: Todd Haley reportedly turns down Cardinals interview request

The Cardinals requested permission to interview Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley, but Haley reportedly declined the interview invitation.

Todd Haley has been a NFL head coach before and apparently he isn't looking to become a head coach again, at least not with the Arizona Cardinals. The Pittsburgh offensive coordinator declined an interview with Arizona, according to a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

The Cardinals requested permission to interview Haley for their head coaching vacancy, but according to the report Haley is happy as the Steelers offensive coordinator and isn't interested in interviewing with the Cardinals. Haley just finished his first season in Pittsburgh after three seasons as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. He does have some familiarity with the Cardinals, having served as Arizona's offensive coordinator for two seasons prior to joining the Chiefs.

With Haley out of the running, the current frontrunners in Arizona appear to be current defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. McCoy and Horton have already interviewed with Cardinals team president Michael Bidwill while Gruden is expected to interview this week.
