Andre Johnson injury: Texans WR a game-time decision, Gary Kubiak says

Johnson missed the bulk of Thursday’s practice and his availability for Sunday likely won’t be known until just before kickoff.

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said wide receiver Andre Johnson missed the majority of practice on Thursday and will be a game-time decision to start this Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, the team has confirmed.

Johnson also missed practice on Wednesday, the result of a lingering hamstring injury. Despite being banged up throughout the season, the 32-year-old has yet to miss a game and has regularly been a Friday-only practice participant.

If Johnson can't go Sunday, it will be a blow to a Texans team reeling from three consecutive losses. After beginning the season as legitimate contenders for the AFC crown, Houston sits at 2-3 and in third place in the AFC South, a division topped by the 4-1 Colts.

The absence of the six-time Pro Bowler will be particularly tough on quarterback Matt Schaub, who has taken heavy criticism for his frequent turnovers this season. He's thrown nine interceptions and set an NFL record last week with his fourth consecutive game with a pick-six.

Johnson has 37 receptions for 407 yards this season but has yet to find his way into the end zone.
