Chiefs injuries: Jamaal Charles, Justin Houston return to practice

The Chiefs got two of their best players back on the practice field Thursday.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Chiefs saw the return of running back Jamaal Charles and outside linebacker Justin Houston on Thursday. Both Charles and Houston participated in practice, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. Charles (blistered toes) and Houston (head/neck) both sat out of practice on Wednesday with injuries.

Charles is the Chiefs' top playmaker on offense and is having a good season under new head coach Andy Reid. He is currently leading the AFC with 397 rushing yards and also has three touchdowns. Houston is vital to the Chiefs' defensive success, and he currently has 8.5 sacks, second-most in the league. Both players were banged up following KC's victory over the Titans in Week 5.

The undefeated Chiefs will face their division rivals, the Oakland Raiders, on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS. This will be the Chiefs' first division matchup of the year.
