Houston took a hit to the head in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans and sustained a possible concussion. He missed Wednesday practice due to the injury, but it was believed he would be okay for Sunday's game until this latest report.
Kansas City is currently at 5-0, largely on the back of its defense, which has held opponents to fewer than 1,000 yards passing in five games. This is largely due to the team’s pass rush, with Houston being the team’s top player. He has 8.5 sacks this season and one forced fumble.
If Houston is unable to play, the Chiefs still have plenty of pass rush potential in Tamba Hali and second-year defensive tackle Dontari Poe, but against the versatile Terrelle Pryor, the defense could use Houston's athleticism.
