Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley may not be actively shopping All-Pro safety Jairus Byrd, but he did acknowledge the team would listen to offers if a team called, according to John Wawrow of the Associated Press.

Byrd is scheduled to make his first start of the 2013 season this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. He missed the first five games of the season due to injury, but prior to being hurt he demanded a trade from the organization after the sides were unable to agree on a long-term deal.

The fifth-year safety was selected in the second round of the 2009 draft and quickly became the team’s best defensive back. He led the AFC in interceptions in 2009 and 2012, being named to two Pro Bowls and All-Pro teams apiece over the span.

The Bills are in their first year of rebuilding under new head coach Doug Marrone. The team selected quarterback E.J. Manuel in the first round of the 2012 draft and is halfway to matching its six-win total from last season, jumping to a 3-2 record early in the season.
