New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski practiced throughout the week once again, but will sit out Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints as he recovers from multiple offseason surgeries on his back and arm.
Rob Gronkowski injury: Patriots TE questioned by teammates on availability
New England’s star tight end is still not playing and now it is causing issues.
However, many players on the Patriots are becoming frustrated with Gronkowski, according to Ed Werder of ESPN. In fact, some have begun to openly question Gronkowski to his face, causing uneasy situations within the locker room, also per Werder.
One of the players annoyed with Gronkowski being able to practice but then shutting it down for Sunday is quarterback Tom Brady, according to Pro Football Talk. In fairness to Gronkowski, the PFT report says Dr. James Andrews has yet to medically clear him due to his lingering forearm injury.
All in all, it is a weird situation for a team that is not used to controversy within the locker room.
