Rob Gronkowski injury: Patriots TE expected to miss 1 more game

Gronkowski will miss his sixth game this season and could miss one more “at most” according to a source.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will miss one more game "at most" according to a source with knowledge of the situation, per NBC Sports. Gronkowski has missed all five games this season so far and will not play on Sunday against the Saints.

Earlier in the week it was reported that Gronkowski stood a good chance of playing against New Orleans but now it appears that he may miss New England's Week 7 game against the Jets before returning in Week 8 to face the Miami Dolphins at home. Gronkowski missed five games last season before returning too soon and re-injuring his broken forearm. He hasn't played since December 30, 2012.

The massive amount of turnover on the Patriots over the offseason, including the loss of Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, and Aaron Hernandez -- in addition to the injury to Gronkowski -- has them 24th in scoring this year. New England hasn't finished lower than 12th in scoring since 2000, the year before Tom Brady took over as starter.
