Levi Brown injury: Steelers LT injured in pre-game warm up

The Steelers find themselves even more thin at left tackle after Levi Brown got hurt in pregame warm-ups.

Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Levi Brown was injured before Sunday's game against the New York Jets, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Brown hurt himself during pregame warm ups.

The timing couldn't be worse for the Steelers, who already announced their gameday inactives before Brown's injury. Former starter Mike Adams was named inactive after losing his job to Brown over the week. The only backup offensive tackle left is Guy Whimper, and Pittsburgh may have to turn to him if Brown isn't able to go during the game.

The Steelers acquired Brown from the Arizona Cardinals for a late conditional draft pick. They were looking for an upgrade on Adams, one of the worst left tackles in the league. Brown hasn't lived up to his billing as a No. 6 overall pick in Arizona, but Pittsburgh was counting on him to at least give a spark to the running game. Brown's pregame injury could throw a wrench into those plans.
