With Josh Freeman lurking behind him on the depth chart, it's officially sink or swim time for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder.
Christian Ponder’s job on the line with Vikings
With Josh Freeman waiting in the wings, Ponder has been warned that his job is in jeopardy.

Ian Rapoport reports that Ponder sat down twice this week with GM Rick Spielman and was told that he needed to fight for his job if he hoped to remain the team’s starting quarterback.
The Vikings have reportedly been impressed with Freeman in practice, and plan to work him onto the field next week against the Giants. The Vikings signed Freeman last week after he was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he spent the first four full seasons of his career.
Ponder was Minnesota's first-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft and has had mixed results as the team's starter. In 30 appearances, he's 5,479 yards, 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. The Vikings finished 10-6 with him under center in 2012, but have started 1-3 this season.
