Everything you thought you knew is a lie, so put these goggles on and let’s start cutting up the bodies.
Time of Death: Six minutes into overtime, Buffalo punted from its own 11 and gave up a 29 yard return to Brandon Tate. That allowed Marvin Lewis to call three run plays and kick a field goal, because Marvin Lewis is the Big Ten Coach of the Year, every year.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY SportsRoyal ran a 4-yard reverse in the second quarter before leaving the field with the injury. His return to the game is “questionable,” according to NFL.com. There is no further update on his status at this time.
The injury leaves the Chargers without a key receiver and the team’s top punt returner. Royal has caught 18 passes for 216 yards this season, but did not register a catch early in Monday’s game. He was one of the early season league league leaders in touchdown receptions, hauling in five passes for TDs.

Is NFL fandom worth it? I don’t mean this in the responsible “we’re cheering people getting brain damage” way. I mean it in the completely selfish “why am I volunteering for weekly heart attacks?” fashion.
That’s what Nick Stevens and I discussed after we finished shooting SB Nation’s War Room Live video as Sunday’s games kicked off. Nick, a Pats fan, expressed angst about the Saints visiting Foxborough that afternoon, a game that, in his estimation, would be a “growler of beer and yelling at the TV.”

Eventually, the unicorns and show ponies came, ridden by fire-breathing horsemen asking the stragglers at Gillette Stadium where the beef was, the answer determining their fate. Or something like that.
Sean Payton’s return from exile figures prominently in the Saints’ red hot start to the season. But his clock management skills were positively Andy Reid-esque inside the three-minute mark.

John Rieger-USA TODAY SportsThe aforementioned Patriots increased their division lead to 1 1/2 games over the idle Dolphins, who will return next week with a home matchup against the Bills. With the Jets and Bills both losing at home on Sunday, they have a lot of work to do if they’re going to catch up with Brady and the boys.
The Bengals kept their division lead with a thrilling overtime win over Buffalo on Sunday. Despite being up 17-7 at one point, the Browns pulled a Browns and lost at home to the Lions, 31-17, dropping back to .500 on the year. Baltimore started off slowly against the Packers and was unable to make a comeback in the fourth quarter.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsMurray was on his way to a big performance against Dallas’ NFC East rivals, already accumulating 29 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries at the time of his injury. He also hauled in two passes for 21 yards. He left the game with the Cowboys holding a 7-3 lead over the Redskins.

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY SportsA bad day got worse in the fourth quarter when Graham limped off the field with an apparent ankle injury. He returned after trainers taped up his ankle, but still couldn’t get anything going.

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY SportsCampbell lay on the field for several minutes in front of a quiet stadium after suffering the injury. He was put on a stretcher and carted off the field as players from both sides surrounded him. Later, reports said that he had numbness and tingling but was moving his extremities. There are no further details known about the severity of his injury. Doctors will perform further tests on him throughout the injury.
Losing Campbell for any stretch of time would be a crushing blow to Arizona’s defense. Before the injury, he was having another dominant performance in a losing effort for the Cardinals. On the season, he recorded 3.5 sacks, 18 tackles and a forced fumble. He has 31 sacks in the past five seasons with the Cardinals.

At the snap, Thompkins headed right for the back corner of the end zone. Brady found him, through the arms of a defensive back, for the touchdown.

The New Orleans Saints’ defense did everything right in the closing minutes against the Patriots. Well, almost everything.
Up 24-23, the Saints forced a turnover on downs. Up 27-23, Keenan Lewis picked off a Tom Brady pass. But each time, the Saints’ offense stalled, and the team gave the ball back to Brady with 1:13 left ... and he drove 70 yards, culminating in a 17-yard Kenbrell Thompkins touchdown pass (see it here).

Chris GraythenIn his place, the Saints turned to Ben Watson, who has been surprisingly more productive against the Patriots in Week 6. He has two catches for 57 yards, while Graham has been shut out by New England’s defense, failing to register a single reception despite being targeted five times.
UPDATE: Graham returned to the field after getting examined and taped by the Saints training staff, but then went to the locker room in the final five minutes of the game with the New Orleans offense out on the field holding a one-point lead.

On the Tennessee side, Chris Johnson delivered yet another dud, rushing for just 33 yards on 12 carries.

Eventually Amendola was helped up, but as he was being taken off of the field by medical officials, he appeared to be somewhat out of it as he was walking away. Certainly it would seem that Amendola will be checked out for a possible concussion.
