Jimmy Graham goes catchless in Saints’ loss to Patriots

The Saints’ Pro Bowl tight end failed to get a catch in a loss to the New England Patriots.

The NFL's leading wide receiver was shut out by the Patriots on Sunday, as Jimmy Graham failed to catch a ball all day. Graham entered the game leading all pass-catchers with 593 yards and was tied for third with 37 receptions.

His quarterback didn't help him much, as Drew Brees looked nothing like himself today. The former Super Bowl MVP was just 17-of-36 for 236 yards.

A bad day got worse in the fourth quarter when Graham limped off the field with an apparent ankle injury. He returned after trainers taped up his ankle, but still couldn’t get anything going.

Graham is already on pace to be a record-setting tight end, catching 31 touchdown passes in just 51 career games. He joins Rob Gronkowski as a new generation of tight ends who are big-play threats every time they step onto the field. Gronkowski has been hampered by injury but is on an even more blistering pace than Graham, scoring 38 touchdowns in 43 career games.
