Titans vs. Seahawks 2013 results: Seattle edges Tennessee in sloppy game, 20-13

It was hardly pretty football, but the Seahawks took care of business at home and beat the Titans, 20-13.

The Seattle Seahawks overcame a handful of mistakes and a strong defensive effort by the Tennessee Titans in Week 6 to win, 20-13. They move to 5-1 on the season and remain undefeated at home.

It was a defensive battle for most of the first half, with both teams struggling to move the ball. The Seahawks finally found the end zone late in the second quarter when Marshawn Lynch punched it in from the 1-yard line. Tennessee took the lead on yet another special teams gaffe by Seattle. During a field goal attempt at the end of the second quarter, holder Chris Maragos fumbled the snap. The Titans recovered the ball and took it all the way to give them a 10-7 lead at halftime.

Seattle continued to struggle with ball control and penalties, but a 31-yard field goal tied the game late in the third quarter. The Seahawks pulled away in the fourth with Lynch's second touchdown of the game. Ryan Fitzpatrick attempted to lead a comeback in the final minutes, driving down to the red zone. The Titans settled for a field goal and the Seahawks led, 20-13, with 2:18 left. Tennessee opted to kick it deep rather than attempt an onside kick, and Jermaine Kearse made them pay by returning it to Seattle's 43-yard line. The Seahawks got two first downs and killed the clock for the victory.

Fantasy studs and duds

Marshawn Lynch got 77 yards on 21 carries, and the two touchdowns are more than enough to keep fantasy owners happy.

On the Tennessee side, Chris Johnson delivered yet another dud, rushing for just 33 yards on 12 carries.

Injury report

Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka was drilled during a kickoff return. He went into the locker room for concussion tests. He came back in the third quarter to kick a field goal.

Titans linebacker Moise Fokou left the game with a knee sprain and did not return.

Did they cover?

The Seahawks were 12-point favorites coming into this game and never came close to covering that spread.
