Saints vs. Patriots 2013 game recap: Tom Brady pulls out incredible win at home
The Saints looked poised to move to 6-0 but the Patriots mounted an unbelievable comeback at the end of regulation.
It appeared as though the Saints were well on their way to a 6-0 start, but Tom Brady and the Patriots had other ideas. Down 27-23 with barely over a minute to go and no timeouts, Brady drove down the field 70 yards and hit rookie Kenbrell Thompkins for a 17-yard touchdown with :10 left in the game.
The Patriots won the game 30-27 and improve to 5-1 while the Saints fell to that same record.
On a day when he had lost one of his top receivers and starting guard with head injuries, Brady helped pull off the unbelievable and kept New England near the top of the AFC.
Fantasy Studs and Duds
Brees threw for 236 yards, two touchdowns and one interception as his incredible season continues, while Tom Brady had 269 yards, one touchdown and one interception during a down-year statistically for him. The interception came on the drive before the game-winning touchdown.
Stevan Ridley scored two touchdowns, tightening his grip as the number one back in New England.
Jimmy Graham had no catches and left with an ankle injury.
Injury Report
For the Patriots, Danny Amendola took a hard hit and left with a head injury and Aqib Talib left with a hip injury. Neither returned. Offensive lineman Dan Connolly left with a head injury as well and did not return.
Graham left with an ankle injury. He was taped up by trainers and returned to the game but later left and went into the locker room.
