DeMarco Murray, DeMarcus Ware unlikely to play for Cowboys vs. Eagles

The Cowboys are likely to be without two key contributors for Sunday’s Week 7 game.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The injuries for Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray and outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware aren't expected to be long-term problems, but they are likely to keep both players from participating in the team's Week 7 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Murray, 25, suffered a strained knee in Sunday's victory over the Washington Redskins and isn't expected to play against the Eagles, although the team is reportedly optimistic about the running back's chances at playing against the Detroit Lions in Week 8.

The prognosis for Ware is a little better, as the team is hopeful that he’ll be able to practice later in the week. However, the chances of him playing in Week 7 seem slim.

The Cowboys improved to 3-3 with their victory over the Redskins in Sunday Night Football and are tied with the Eagles for the NFC East division lead.
