NFC East injuries, Week 6: DeMarcus Ware and DeMarco Murray out for Dallas

Dallas is tied atop the NFC East but will likely have to play at least a week without DeMarcus Ware and DeMarco Murray.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been a rough year for the NFC East and now on top of the struggles on the field, a few of the teams are dealing with serious injuries. Dallas lost a pair of starters on Sunday and could be without them for multiple weeks. The Cowboys will face Philadelphia this week and the Eagles are dealing with their own injuries.

Here’s a complete look at the latest injury updates from around the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys knocked off Washington on Sunday, despite losing DeMarcus Ware and DeMarco Murray early in the game. Both are likely to be out for at least a week, with Ware possibly missing up to a month. Ware suffered a quad strain and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. However, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Ware may only miss one or two games. Murray sprained his MCL and will likely miss at least Sunday’s game against Philadelphia.

New York Giants

New York got some good news on Monday with the news that running back David Wilson does not need neck surgery and could return within a month. There were concerns Wilson could miss the entire season, but with the upcoming bye week, he may only miss two games. The Giants are banged up at running back and both Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rel Scott missed practice on Monday. Center David Baas is working his way back from a neck injury and did some individual work at Monday's practice.

Philadelphia Eagles

The big story in Philadelphia is the status of quarterback Michael Vick. Vick missed Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and his status is still in doubt. Head coach Chip Kelly said the team will monitor Vick during the week before making a decision on whether he or Nick Foles will start against Dallas. Starting left tackle Jason Peters and safety Patrick Chung were both limited in practice on Monday.

Washington Redskins

Washington dropped to 1-4 with its loss to Dallas and the Redskins lost a couple of players for the season. Linebacker Bryan Kehl tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Snapper Nick Sundberg also suffered a serious knee injury and will also miss the rest of the season. Rookie cornerback David Amerson left Sunday's game with a concussion and will now have to go through NFL protocol before he is cleared to return.
