With plenty of teams holding early week tryouts, the team that was most active was the Seattle Seahawks, bringing in six linebackers for tryouts. Tavares Gooden, Larry Grant, Josh Hull, D.J. Holt, Tyrone McKenzie and Mike Taylor were all brought in by the team, although Hull is expected to join the Washington Redskins.
Also active were the New England Patriots, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, who are each looking to fill gaps. The Patriots tried out a pair of defensive lineman, Frank Kearse and George Johnson, while the Packers tried out a pair of linebackers, Demetrius Hartsfield and Justin Staples. The Lions brought in three tight ends, including Kyle Adams and Daniel Fells, but elected to sign Doris Dickerson.
Rounding out the workouts for the day, the San Francisco 49ers brought in offensive tackle Jamaal Johnson-Webb and the Minnesota Vikings brought in former Pro Bowl kicker Shayne Graham.
