NFL power rankings 2013, Week 7: Broncos remain at top, tie for second-best

The Denver Broncos remain the consensus top team in the NFL, but the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs are tied for the second spot in the composite power rankings.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos didn't look very impressive in their victory over the winless Jacksonville Jaguars, but the team will have to do a lot worse than a 16-point victory to fall from the top of the power rankings. For a third consecutive week, they were named the consensus top team in the NFL, but a trip to play the No. 6-ranked Indianapolis Colts will test their mettle.

There is no consensus for the second spot though, as the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs split the honor after a pair of Week 6 wins.

Surging up the rankings some were the San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams and Carolina Panthers after strong Week 6 victories. Each bumped up four spots closer to the top, although all three are ranked in the latter half of the league.

At the bottom of the rankings, the Jacksonville Jaguars still own the No. 32 spot; however, they are not the consensus worst for the first time in 2013. After a strong showing against the Broncos, the Jaguars earned a No. 31 ranking from SB Nation and No. 30 from FOX.

Here’s a look at how the sports media outlets ranked the teams after Week 6:
