Percy Harvin injury: Seahawks WR scheduled to practice in Week 8, per report

Harvin could finally make his return from offseason hip surgery next week, though his return to game action is still uncertain.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Sidelined all season by offseason surgery, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin will finally return to practice in Week 8, according to Ian Rapoport.

While a timeline for his return to live action is still unknown, Rapoport reports it will be “sooner, rather than later.”

Harvin, who was placed on the regular season PUP list after offseason hip surgery to repair a torn labrum, has yet to practice with the team after arriving in Seattle as the team’s biggest offseason acquisition. He has spent much of the last two months rehabbing in New York, but returned to Seattle last week.

Once he returns to practice, PUP guidelines dictate that the Seahawks have three weeks to place him on the active roster. Initial reports suggested a return no sooner than Thanksgiving, but it seems as though the wideout's progress could have him on the field sooner than that. With a Nov. 17 matchup against the Vikings looming, Harvin no doubt has hopes of being back on the field against his former team.
