Seahawks injury update: Derrick Coleman and Jeron Johnson out

Hamstring injuries have forced out two Seattle players on Thursday night.

The Seattle Seahawks will be without fullback Derrick Coleman and safety Jeron Johnson in the second half of Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Both players have hamstring injuries and will miss the remainder of the game, according to NFL Around the League.

Coleman is Seattle’s starting fullback, and it will be interesting to see if his absence will hurt Marshawn Lynch’s ability to run the football in the second half. Coleman is not an offensive threat, but a reliable lead blocker who opens holes in a questionable Seahawks offensive line. Lynch ran for 46 yards on 10 carries in the first half without too much trouble, but the Arizona Cardinals defensive line has gotten effective penetration throughout Thursday’s game.

The Seahawks' starting secondary remains intact, where Johnson backs up starter Kam Chancellor. His role is primarily on special teams as a key member of Seattle's coverage team. Javier Arenas returned a kickoff 25 yards in the first half, but Patrick Peterson is the bigger threat as a punt returner.
