Jake Locker will start against 49ers, per report

Jake Locker will reportedly make his return on Sunday just three weeks after suffering a hip injury.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker is expected to start against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Locker is listed as questionable on the injury report but should play, barring a setback.

Locker’s return comes just three weeks after suffering a hip and knee injury in Week 4. He missed the last two games and was limited in practice this week, but the team seems ready to turn back to him.

Locker had a solid start to the season, leading the Titans to a surprising 3-1 record before the injury. Ryan Fitzpatrick started the two games in Locker's place. He struggled in that role, completing just 52 percent of his passes and throwing four interceptions to two touchdowns as the Titans went 0-2. Locker's return should be a boost to the entire offense, but he may have a rough debut against San Francisco's strong defense. Locker has yet to throw an interception this season.
