Jaguars, Jacksonville announce scoreboard plans
The Jags and their host city have released official plans on their proposed stadium upgrades.

The proposed stadium upgrade, which was announced in June, will cost a total of $63 million, and the city will pay its $43 million out of a sports complex maintenance fund. The majority of the funding will go toward the construction of a pair of new video boards, each measuring 55 by 301 feet. A new platform will also be added in the north end zone, resulting in an additional 7,000 seats.
The investment in stadium upgrades by owner Shad Kahn is reassuring news to a Jaguars fan base that has heard a fair share of relocation rumors, the most prominent and outlandish of which is a move to London. Dropping $20 million into a Jacksonville stadium doesn’t sound like the team on its way out of town.
Why the Jaguars, who have been outscored, 129-31, on their way to an 0-4 start, want to draw more attention to their scoreboard is a different concern altogether.
