Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor will start vs. Chargers

Pryor is back after missing a week with concussion symptoms.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

After a week of Matt Flynn as the Raiders' starting quarterback, Oakland is ready for a return from Terrelle Pryor. Luckily for Raiders Nation, Pryor is no longer feeling symptoms of the concussion he suffered in Week 3 and will start against the Chargers on Sunday, according to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune.

The third-year player was out of the lineup against the Redskins in Week 4 after a relapse of concussion symptoms appeared on the Saturday before the game. Veteran Matt Flynn took his place and played poorly in the 24-14 loss to Washington. Pryor offers the Raiders a better arm and running ability than Flynn, which will open up the offense a bit more in Week 5.

Per McDonald, Flynn's performance in Week 4 was so underwhelming that undrafted rookie Matt McGloin has surpassed him as Pryor's backup for Sunday's game. McGloin has yet to appear in a game.

The Raiders will host the Chargers on Sunday night at 11:35 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
