2013 NFL Standings, Week 7: Chiefs the lone remaining undefeated team

Just like everyone predicted, the Chiefs are the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

Jamie Squire

For weeks, the Denver Broncos were considered Super Bowl favorites. Coming out of Week 7, when the Broncos suffered their first loss of the season at the hand of the Colts, the questions were about which direction the team was heading.

It’s tough to get a clear picture of the NFL standings after seven weeks, but things are starting to take form as midseason approaches.

Here’s a look the division-by-division standings through seven weeks:

AFC East Standings

W L T PF PA
New England 5 2 0 152 127
New York Jets 4 3 0 134 162
Miami 3 3 0 135 140
Buffalo 3 4 0 159 178

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

New England still sits atop the division even after a loss to the Jets on Sunday. The Dolphins surprisingly dropped a game to the Bills, missing a chance to close the gap on the Patriots.

AFC North Standings

W L T PF PA
Cincinnati 5 2 0 148 135
Baltimore 3 4 0 150 148
Cleveland 3 4 0 131 156
Pittsburgh 2 4 0 107 132

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

The AFC North, once considered one of the best divisions in all of football, appears to have taken a step back this season. The Bengals are running away with the lead after another win on Sunday. The Ravens and Steelers had another tough game but both are still on the outside looking in on the division title race.

AFC South Standings

W L T PF PA
Indianapolis 5 2 0 187 131
Tennessee 3 4 0 145 146
Houston 2 5 0 122 194
Jacksonville 0 7 0 76 222

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

The Colts made a big statement on Sunday Night Football, defeating the Denver Broncos and improving to 5-2 on the season. Meanwhile, the Texans showed some life but ultimately lost to the Chiefs, falling even farther out of the race for the AFC South division crown.

The Jaguars continued their dreadful season, getting thrashed by the Chargers at home and maintaining their spot at the bottom of the division.

AFC West Standings

W L T PF PA
Kansas City 7 0 0 169 81
Denver 6 1 0 298 197
San Diego 4 3 0 168 144
Oakland 2 4 0 105 132

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

The Kansas City Chiefs now have sole possession of first place in the AFC West. After holding off the Houston Texans, the Chiefs improved to 7-0. With the Broncos' loss on Sunday night, Kansas City takes a one-game lead.

NFC East Standings

W L T PF PA
Dallas 4 3 0 200 155
Philadelphia 3 4 0 169 196
Washington 2 4 0 152 184
New York Giants 0 6 0 103 209

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

The NFC East has been a messy division in 2013. The Cowboys started to give it some clarity in Week 7, beating the Philadelphia Eagles to take a one-game lead in the division. The Redskins kept pace, though, beating the Chicago Bears in a shootout.

NFC North Standings

W L T PF PA
Green Bay 4 2 0 168 127
Detroit 4 3 0 186 167
Chicago 4 3 0 213 206
Minnesota 1 4 0 125 158

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

The Green Bay Packers are back atop the NFC North standings after an easy win against the Cleveland Browns. With the Bears and Lions both losing in Week 7, the Packers are in first place of the North for the first time in 2013.

NFC South Standings

W L T PF PA
New Orleans 5 1 0 161 103
Carolina 3 3 0 139 83
Atlanta 2 4 0 153 157
Tampa Bay 0 6 0 87 132

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

New Orleans had a bye week in Week 7 and still sits atop the NFC South Standings. The Panthers had an impressive showing against the Rams, but still sit two games behind. The Falcons beat the Buccaneers convincingly, but that only gave them bragging rights at the bottom of the standings.

NFC West Standings

W L T PF PA
Seattle 6 1 0 191 116
San Francisco 5 2 0 176 135
St. Louis 3 4 0 156 184
Arizona 3 4 0 133 161

(updated 9.30.2013 at 8:51 PM PDT)

Seattle continues to have slight control over the NFC West after a convincing win over the Cardinals on Thursday night. The 49ers kept pace, though, beating the Titans by 14 points.

While the Seahawks and 49ers continue to push forward, the Rams took a big step back, losing to the Panthers and losing Sam Bradford to a knee injury.
