The Dallas Cowboys added 2011 second-round draft pick Marvin Austin to their roster on Monday, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team signed the defensive tackle less than a week after he was released by the Miami Dolphins.

Austin was a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, but has just nine career tackles.

Austin, 24, was selected with the 52nd overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft by the New York Giants despite missing his senior season at North Carolina due to a suspension. In two seasons with the Giants, Austin made appearance in just seven games, tallying eight total tackles before he was released.
He was added to the Dolphins roster on Sept. 24 and made appearances in two games with the team, but was released just a few weeks later.
The Cowboys are thin on the defensive line after releasing four-time Pro Bowl tackle Jay Ratliff just a week before. Through seven games in 2013, the Cowboys rank 28th in the NFL in total yardage allowed.
