Texans injuries: Ben Tate and Arian Foster banged up

The Texans will likely need to add another running back to their depth chart before Week 9.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

The Texans are lucky to have a bye week following Week 7's loss to the Chiefs. On Sunday against the Chiefs, running backs Arian Foster and Ben Tate each suffered injuries. Foster suffered a "mild" hamstring pull, while Tate broke four ribs yet still expects to play in Week 9 following the team's bye week, per the Associated Press.

The Texans are light at running back after the injuries to Foster and Tate. Houston cut rookie running back Cierre Wood on Monday after he broke team rules at the Texans' hotel in Kansas City, according to McClain. Outside of Tate and Foster, fullback Greg Jones is the only other back on the roster. The Texans have Pittsburgh alum Ray Graham on the practice squad as well. He went undrafted this year but had seven carries for 29 yards and a touchdown in the preseason.

Following the bye, the Texans will host the Colts on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
